ABIDING IN CHRIST By Pst Peter Nkunzingoma

ABIDING IN CHRIST. John 15:1-4 ( NKJV)

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Our devotion today focuses on one of the very Important Call that Christ Himself makes to His disciples then and also to us today and that is the CALL TO ABIDE OR TO REMAIN IN HIM AND ALSO HIM IN YOU.

Jesus makes this call at a critical moment of His ministry, knowing well that time was coming and it was about when He would be arrested, suffer in the hands of the Roman soldiers, be crucified on the cross and so He calls His disciples to endure, stay or stick to His Love, I know you are my followers and I know that you love me but I want you to Live in me, my life to be your life and your life to be mine regardless of the SEASONS. It is the same call being echoed to us today in these times. ABIDE IN HIM
He is the source of life, Joy and peace without Him, you can hardly bear any fruit and that can lead to destruction.

A few lessons from John 15:1-4.

1) We must bear fruit always in season and out of season e.g Paul says the fruit of the Holy Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control and against such there is no law Galatians 5:22-23.

2) You Can not bear any fruit outside of Jesus, in other words for you to bear much fruit you need to constantly study the word of God, Pray to God and live a life that honors Him and this He Himself will enable you by His grace, because He Himself will prune you.

3) Lastly, Jesus Himself declares He is the True vine and the Father is the vine dresser. They are working even in these times of Covid-19, and revival awaits, God the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit are the True source of life, without acknowledging that path, you are just wasting time, He wants you and me to abide in Him If we must yield much fruit.

God bless you and stay safe as you reflect on this word today.
